Community Impact

  • We hosted opportunities to educate children about trail conservation, nature preservation, and volunteering at Bass Lake through nature walks and scavenger hunts.
  • We’re extending our impact area to include Blowing Rock, Boone, and West Jefferson, N.C.
  • Friends of the Blue Ridge awards scholarships to local high school seniors and invites others to apply (click on the Scholarships tab).
  • Group 3-4 mile hikes/walks are offered weekly on peaceful nature trails within a 5-mile radius of Boone. Check our chapter’s Facebook page for current offerings.
