10am-1pm: Come with your favorite writing and drawing tools! On this walk, you will be guided through the process of deepening your experience with nature, and then you will be encouraged to express that experience in a fun way with words and drawings. Mileage for these walks is usually 2-3 miles on trails best traversed with closed-toed hiking shoes although longer distances may be possible depending on the abilities of people registered. Either way, you will have plenty of time to sit with your journals or to just sit and enjoy in your own way.

1-3pm: After the walk, you’re welcome to stay for a takeaway lunch at The Bluffs (or BYO) for a picnic while listening to free live music courtesy of the Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation.

The walk is limited to 10 participants and advance registration is required. The exact location and distance will be depend on the physical abilities of people registering. The music performance isn’t part of the walking event and is open to the public with no advance registration needed.

Advance registration is required for the haiku walk.
