Check out "The Littlest Leaf" by Cora Goforth

Several years ago, Cora Goforth and a couple of friends from her Girl Scout troop worked with the FRIENDS Asheville Chapter to blaze some trails. Now as a rising junior in high school, Cora has written a children's book as part of her Girl Scout Gold Award. The book is about environmental awareness through the journey of a leaf. Please click the button to read and share the book so Cora's message can reach and inform as many people as possible about the importance of caring for our world and the environment.

Music Heritage Hike

May 12 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm

Thursdays, 10am
Blue Ridge Music Center, Galax, VA

Join a guided 4-mile hike through hardwood forests and hilly meadows. After an hour of walking among the sights and sounds of beautiful natural habitats, you’ll start to hear mountain music in the distance. Following those sounds along a forested trail, we will find ourselves back at our starting location where we can snack (bring a picnic lunch!) while listening local musicians telling stories and playing tunes. You’ll also have the opportunity to visit the Roots of American Music Museum which is free and open for your viewing pleasure. Group size is limited and registration is required. To register, visit www.sweetmountainways.com/register
